I am currently using Primo Ramdisk, and there is a major feature it includes that I don't see anywhere else (except ImDisk, maybe?).
Dynamic Allocation.
The idea is that, for instance, if you have an 8GB ramdisk, but are only using 100MB of it, you only use 100MB of RAM plus a bit of overhead. This feature is an absolute MUST and should be standard across the industry by now, but it seems like it's sort of an afterthough, and the feature is rarely mentioned on websites. ImDisk didn't mention it (Had to look in reviews), I don't think Primo mentioned it. Yet it is SO ESSENTIAL to the functionality.
I normally use less than 100MB on my drive, for instance, but it often spikes to several GB when decompressing, downloading, or other heavy use of the TEMP folder. So I have mine set to 16GB, with 8GB on RAM and 8GB on my SSD to handle overflow. If I were to use most of the software out there, I would be using 8GB of RAM constantly, while only filling it with a few MB.
So what are all the programs you know of that have dynamic allocation?
