Which ryzen cpu to buy?

Solution
Definitely the 1600. More future-proof, and it gives you a lot more room for recording/streaming if you want to venture into that. The 2400g is decent, but overall I'd advise the 1600 entirely since you already have a 1070.
Since you already have a GTX 1070 you have no need for the 2400g. The 2400g is an APU which is basically a CPU and GPU combined.
I recommend that you go for the 1600 but if you can go for the newer and faster Ryzen 5 2600. It should be the same price if buying brand new and the socket and chipset on the motherboard is the exact same.

Thanks

Having the integrated graphics as a backup is a good thing. Using the integrated graphics is a standard step in troubleshooting a graphics card and or monitor. Plus if you have the multi-monitor option, you can use the integrated graphics to run a separate monitor.

It's not worth getting a 2400g solely for the purpose of troubleshooting, when you can buy a cheap video card for 10 dollars. You can also just buy a hdmi splitter to use alot of monitors. The 2400g is inferior in every single way and its graphics are that of a 1050's. The 1600 is the better buy, and don't get caught up in troubleshooting when you will probably never have to mate. Good luck with your build.

I agree, 2400g does not worth it,, i would for Ryzen 2600 as well.

So you think it is a good idea to buy a used graphics card so you can toss in a drawer to use some day. Plus there isn't a $10 graphics card out there that is worth a crap. You have been talking to the other guy. He said exactly the same thing. Be sure to get your story straight now. One might think that your the same guy.

Yes we had the same talk, i dont care what you think, mods can track everyone and your opinion doesnt matter on this subject. Your thinking is wrong as you can see more people share my opinion, you are saying get a crap CPU because it has iGPU when you can get a really really good cpu but without iGPU.

As for 2 pounds you can get a videocard: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Geforce-GF210-512M-DDR2-64B-TC-CRT-DV-1-Graphics-Card/292618074747?hash=item4421657a7b:g:7gcAAOSwRRZbJShV

EDIT: Here a lot more videocards for 2-3 pounds: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Computer-Components-Parts/175673/i.html?_sop=2&_nkw=graphics+card&rt=nc&LH_BIN=1

If you are not going to use the onboard graphics of the 2400G it is NOT a good idea to buy it. The Onboard GPU uses 8 PCIe lanes, even when disabled. So any GPU you install will run at PCIe x8, instead of x16.

OP get the 1600 or a 2600

I agree with Rogue here. It is an utter fallacy to skimp out on a CPU so you can have "better troubleshooting options." If the whole point of having integrated graphics is for solely troubleshooting, then what difference does it make by using a very cheap GPU vs integrated graphics? They're going to fulfill the same purpose.
