Hi all,
I have a Lenovo Y-700-15ISK laptop,which has a HDD and a SSD.

The HDD is 1 TB 5400 rpm WD Blue.

Because of the small amount of space of the SSD (only 128 GB),
I install the games to the HDD,but I am facing huge FPS drops while playing the games!

I have installed hdparm, but it doesn't help me!

I would please someone to help me to optimize the drive and play the games more smoothly and without FPS drops!

p.s I don't have enough money to upgrade to a SSD with larger storage!
So please help me to optimize that what I have!

Thanks to all in advance!
Best regards!

Well, one can defrag a HDD twice monthly, that will help a little bit in the seek, read, write time. Defragging is like putting 1000 reference books scattered all over the library back into their one shelf, in alpha order.

Windows automatically defrags hdds behind the scenes...man. defrag will do little to nothing. Without getting a bigger ssd, not much can be done except maybe striping off as much data as possible to make room on the ssd for ur game...
