Hello there!

I am going to buy a new PC with the following hardware:

Case: cooler master cilensio 550
CPU: Intel I5 4460 3.2 Ghz
Cooler: cooler master hyper 412S
Motherboard: Asus B85m-G
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3-1600
GPU: Nvidia GTX 750 TI 2GB
Hard Drive: 2000 GB Sata III
Power supply: 600 Watt Cooler Master
OS: WIndows 7 Home Premium
Not overclocked.

Now the problem is, i can either get this above me, or upgrade the CPU or GPU. I only have the money to upgrade one. If i upgrade the CPU it will be an Intel Core i5 4690K 3.50 Ghz. If i upgrade the GPU it will be a GTX 760 2GB. I will be playing games like Skyrim, Planetside 2, and smaller games like TF2 and maybe others. Thank you for You're help.

Not really sure on this. Just read some reviews, they should show comparisons to each of the cards and stuff. It'll give you a better idea. I don't think there is much in it so the newer one might be the best bet due to less power usage, but double check. As your question has changed so much you should consider opening a new thread/question asking which of the two cards people recommend you get.

I suggest the 4460 since you are not overclocking. There will not be a huge gap in performance and you will be saving yourself €70! The 4690k is only really worth it when you overclock because then you can reach I7 territory without paying the I7 price. Now that is good value for the 4690k then.

I5 4690k would be good for later use and you could always overclock later too. But other than that, i would go for the 4460 anyday if i were using at stock performance

If you can buy the gtx 960 for the same price as the 760 then go for it. It seems okay from benchmarks i have seen, but its only a little better than the gtx 760 and that is bummer, what exactly is new? Apart from less power draw?

From the reviews that I have read it seems good for the price but i think they could have offered more tbh and i think that is disappointing. It it seriously under my expectations.

Which gtx 960 are you going to go for?

I fear I am too late

I haven't had time come on or even check my emails due to assignments and exams.
Stick to i5 4460 because you are only getting slightly better. Yes it has extra 0.3ghz but do you really need it, not really. K series is only worth it if you overclock and get i7 performance easy.

The GTX 960 is a great card but only see's a mild improvement over its predecessor. I am waiting to get the next AMD.
AMD is releasing cards in Q2 with proposed HBM technology which is supposed to be more than 5x faster.
If need card quick then for price to performance the Gtx 960 is great.

How much is it costing you to get gtx 960 and what are the prices of other cards?

Cool to see this forum isn't dead, lol. Here is the list:
+AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB [- € 45,00]
+Nvidia GTX 960 2GB
+AMD Radeon HD R9 280X 3GB [+ € 20,00]
+AMD Radeon HD R9 290 4GB [+ € 70,00]
The GTX 970 is to expensive. The GTX 750 TI is €75 cheaper then the 960. I'm not in a hurry, so i can wait for a AMD card. Thanks.

I am waiting for the next AMD cards and hopefully we will get something good but I cannot say for definite. The whole GTX 970 scandal has put me off buying the card and the GTX 980 is too much for me.

For now, if you had the choice to pick a graphics card, it would easily be the R9 290 which will reach 60fps in Crysis 3. But the R9 280x will the best buy because for €50 euros less you would still get 50+ fps in the same game. Assuming that you are gaming on 1080p the 280x is more than enough and is better in the short term. However, with the future games getting more demanding, the R9 290 would be a more sound and practical buy for future games thus making it a better long term investment.

The 280x and 290 are much better than the 960 and are worth the extra cost.
