White stripe down the front of display screen

Hello,

I have a PowerPC G5 iMac whose screen intermittently 'blacked-out' over the past year, and recently a 'permanent' vertical white stripe has affixed itself on the screen. This is a known issue for the G5s but there doesn't seem to be an agreed upon fix for this problem.

I was wondering if replacing the graphics card might fix it.

Any suggestions for what type/brand of card I should use?

that is more of a monitor issue

you may have to get a new monitor

It's an iMac ... the whole machine is a 'monitor' ....

forgot about those things

in that case a new "display" is necessary as in new i mac maybe or send ot to MAC and have them fix it
