I pay 15$ for 100Mbit connection with unlimited traffic. (I'm from Romania. My ISP is RDS [Romania Data Systems])
I've reached 12 Mbits with New York on the speedtest and with germany about 60 Mbits 😀

[citation][nom]jsc[/nom]Saudi Arabia - 1 mbit/sec for about the equivalent of $60 a month.[/citation]
Add to that the most freaking horrible lag anyone can ever experience in their whole life. Maybe and just maybe if I die and go to heaven they'll have better internet over there!

750 kbs/s,tata broadband ~$45/month.
What should i say now ?
Dodge this or welcome to hell.
Please add throttling as well.
Way to go /cry.
Regards

Up at RIT I regularly got > 5 MB/s, and approached 10 MB/s, with upload speeds about half that, if I recall correctly. AND I had a dedicated external, unique IP address and DNS entry (that I could customize to whatever I liked), so that I could (and did) set up my PC with an apache server, AND without campus-wide port blocking or other weird firewalling. It was fantastic.

Here in Seattle, WA USA. Qwest is $45 for 1.5mb, 60 for 7mb (I use the window network gadget and only get 6.5 or 6 mb). Qwest has no cap yet. Comcast is way more , but hey got up to 20mb and beyond, but I am not going to pay $80-100.

Clearwire or wire with 4g network or up to 6mb is $40 and 1.5mb is $30. There are some reception issues with the old 3g in some area and house, but I hope the 4G is better.

fastest no, but cheapest - FREE. make one big wi-fi antenna and the free internet is yours. Every second fool has one wireless router and don't know what security is.

[citation][nom]Marco925[/nom]Oh sure you'll get 1Gbps.But you'll still be with the 60GB Bandwidth cap that you'll eat in a minute[/citation]
I have a 100GB cap ($50/month service), and they don't care when I hit 300GB. 😀

I live in Romania (Constanta city ) and i have two connections at my home: one from a local company called Ilink (100mbps) - 35 lei - 12 $ and the second one from other company ( a big one - R.D.S.) - same speed (100mbps) 39 lei = 13$. Both connections use network cable (U.T.P.). So, for both internet providers i pay 25 bucks. R.D.S. give to me in the same amount fixed telephone line, 3g net and 3g mobile.

[citation][nom]__-_-_-__[/nom]USA seams a 3rd world country.I've an average of 19.2mbps on 3.5G wireless HDSPA and 1gbps symmetric on fiber.welcome to Portugal.[/citation]

Well you see the problem here is that my city is about the size of your entire country so it's a bit of a challenge to get 1GB fiber standardized. Portugal is less that 1% of USA's entire landmass.

I have a hard time believing this research, especially when users in Asia have been getting 70mbps+ connections for a good price for years. Simply check out Speedtest - Japan/Korea has the highest average for net connections.

whot i kno of in sweden meny regions in stockholm you get free 1GBps. Well hum altho the price range for a smal apartment is not so much free hum hum.

"Where should you go for ludicrous speed? "

Easy, any US university. I can get real 100 mbps down AND up over ethernet, with 54 mbps up and down over wifi. Only problem is most web hosts don't serve up more than 20 mbps for downloads.

I get that at my house for $25/mo with Quest wifi hooked up with the ethernet cable! 100MBps with, 54MBps without!

Time Warner in North Carolina is getting a little old... Road Runner Turbo.... 12mbps with boost to 15.

They have DOCSIS 3 for up to 100mbps but will not activate it because they want to put bandwidth limjavascript:%20void(0);its on it and over charge customers...

I pay $72/month for JUST a 12 Mbps connection, the fastest available in my city. In France, for 33$/month one can get a 20 Mbps broadband with HDTV, unlimited long distance and international telephone, and wireless connectivity throughout the country.

Out in my yard is a buried Fiber Optic cable, laid by my city 15 years ago after repeated requests to the cables and telcos to switch from Copper wire to FO fell on deaf ears. Progress was subsequently blocked when cable and telcos bribed Congress with "campaign donations" to get legislation passed outlawing "unfair competition", with the promise to use the $200+ BILLION dollars Congress gave them to lay the FO everywhere. But, the bribes also included an under the table deal NOT to put any teeth into the bill for non-compliance. So, the cable and telcos took their $200+ Billion and pocketed it. Today, the cable and telcos are still sucking income out of Copper wire by "tiering" it into high priced "premium" services and dribble for the rest of us. With the January US Supreme Court's ruling against Citizens United and the FCC, the ISPs can now throttle and filter to their hearts desire, and you should have NO DOUBT that such activity will be in favor of the HIGHEST BIDDERS, the Entertainment industry and the News Media Industry, both trying to sustain their obscene profit margins exploiting the performers and the consumers.

Welcome to the Brave New World, were corporations and government have combined into a Cabal to destroy what remains of the Constitution so that a few politicians and corporate thieves can live like kings, in excellent health, jet setting between several multi-million dollar estates, or taking multiple "fact-finding" junkets to resort spots around the world. Of the common citizens, one third cannot afford health care and the rest barely so.

Lawrence Lessig summed it best in his speech , which you must watch. He also has a solution: FixCongressFirst.org

Here in India i get 8Mbps with unlimited download limit for about $20 with free phone connection.

I live in Hong Kong. City Telecom is a dodgy and tricky company. No way I will use any service from City Telecom ever again. Here is what happened: About 10 years ago, they offered "free" dial-up service to connect me to the web. Unbeknown to me, they somehow set up some sort of account for me, and unbeknown to me someone else sent me junk mails and max out this account. City Telecom promptly charge me with a hugh bill for storage for this "free" service. City Telecom is a tricky company to deal with.

In France, the basic ISP offer is 20Mbps in ADSL (dependant to the distance to the central, i am a bit far so i only have 9Mbps but i am happy because it's very constant 99.999% of the time) without any download or upload limit for 30€ (40US$). With TV and free phone to the major coutries. And the connectivity to the rest of the world is perfect.

i get 10 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up for about 54 dollars per month with 20 Gb cap -from maldives-
