Solution
How do I change the default download location for Steam?

1) Navigate to your Steam client 'Settings' menu.
2) Select 'Steam Library Folders' from the 'Downloads' tab.
3) From here, you can view your default installation path, as well as creating a new path by selecting 'Add Library Folder'.

Because that is a universally known location in the Windows world.
And because of sloppy developers.

They should, in theory, allow you to designate the save location.
Since they didn't, you're mostly stuck. Leave it as is.

But, the save data is normally pretty small. Any particular reason you need it to be elsewhere?
