Why can't I change loadline calibration Gigabyte motherboard ?

Hi guys
I've been working on overclocking my CPU . Upon some investigation I am understanding perhaps I will need to change my loadline calibration however when I go into the spot to accomplish this in my Gigabyte bios it seems I cannot change it ? Pressing enter does absolutely nothing and leaves it on auto . Please help ?

If you aren't able to modify a setting it usually means another setting needs to be changed first. Likely taking auto off on CPU core voltage. Not in front of my Gigabyte boards at the moment so I can't verify, but that sounds familiar. Usually LLC is one of the things you change for stability. Keep in mind this does result in higher voltages then specified when the CPU is coming into or out of a heavy load.

Only things I've changed so far is CPU Clock ratio . Extreme memory profile X.M.P to profile 1 for my 3000 mHz sticks , I'm getting 4.4 ghz on my 6700k though I would like to go a little higher . I have changed my CPU vcore higher then the stock voltage to get a higher overclock though that didn't work . Hence why I've been researching loadline calibration though cannot enable it . I am aware of the spikes it can create going into different loads and I'm not sure yet what to set it to to try a bit of an overclock though I just cannot get it enabled atm

Update: tried setting everything in bios to default and still no go . Loadline calibration still stays on auto ...

As I understand it, LLC requires that the mobo, CPU, and DRAM support LLC. I didn't see anything in the documentation for your G.Skill DRAM that mentions LLC so I assume it doesn't support it.

I have never heard that memory requires LLC support. Completely unrelated voltages I would think.

Should be between the CPU and the motherboard only.

What other voltages in the system are set to auto? One of them could easily be preventing the changing of LLC.

As usual the manual doesn't have anything beyond the basic description of what LLC is.

One of these days the bastards will make a logic diagram... I remember struggling for hours the first time I had an ASUS board to get the chip to overclock, and all I ended up having to do was change one setting to extreme...

On my Gigabyte Z270X Gaming 5 I first gave the CPU upgrade a try, which was actually very close to what I ended up with in terms of settings. LLC was available to be changed at that point, and I set it to the second highest level. I usually do fixed voltages, but I wanted to give speedstep and power saving a try on this build. Seems to be working out so far.

i have the same problem on my msi 990fxa gd65 motherboard. cant find load line calibration and my volateg drosp to 1.35 under load and just f's everything up. Theres another issue where i cant change some voltages off auto as i dont know what to manually set them as and theres no default number. if someone can solve this id be grateful,

About the only difference I see is that you have the CPU upgrade set to Auto. Worth a shot if nothing else. They clearly put a lot of effort into it. I had to only bump the voltage and LLC up a little to get 100% stability from their settings. As I recall they have a stock setting for each K SKU.

When I updated the BIOS on the other hand, I had to do it manually more or less. Pretty sure the voltages were actually being mis-reported with that first BIOS.

you have to type in Capital H (High) or cap T (Turbo) to change. h or t will not work this befuddled me also till I saw a screenshot from joomag overclock guide

3 years later and your comment helped me out. I struggled with llc settings in bios as i could only select standard. t etc didn't work. Behold i used Capital letter T and it changed to turbo. Now my overclock actually works. Thanks!
