Question why cant i get dual channel to enable

cant get full 16gb of ram cant get pc to go into dual channel last i checked my mobo could do dual channel on the specs .....

cpu A6-6400k 3.9 GHz
ram- is ddr3 16GB
(2x8gb ddr3 sticks 1333Mhz)
mobo- A68HM-P33

Are the ram sticks placed correctly? They shouldnt be side by side

yeah they are placed correctly due to the fact the ram slots are right next to each other with only 2 ram slots on the motherboard pc picks up both rams just dual channel ram wont enable tbh

Are said sticks of ram an actual dual channel kit, or at least the same make/model?

they came out of my brothers old pc 2x8gb ddr3 1333mhz
they worked perfect in his pc would boot up showing the full 16gb usable
