Hi, I have recently bought a new modem with dual band 2.4ghz and 5ghz and also I have recently built a new pc.

I can connect to the 2.4ghz wifi and use the internet. I can also connect to the 5ghz wifi, but I can't use the internet, but I believe I can see everything in the network fine.

My PC I built has a the Asus Z97I-PLUS motherboard in it and the motherboard is 802.11ac compatible, if that helps with anything.

I just don't know why I can't use the internet on 5ghz but I can on 2.4ghz.

Any help with my problem will grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I assume it has been enabled in the router since other computers can connect to the 5GHz network and use the internet.

If you mean by connecting to the 5GHz network with your wifi card by just connected to the 5GHz network in network connections area then yes I have, if that's not what you mean, then I guess I haven't..

Hey, Yeah, I looked on the manufacturers website and it says "Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Supports dual band frequency 2.4/5 GHz, Support ASUS Wi-Fi Go! Utility". So I believe it is a dual band wifi card.

By the way my motherboard has built in wifi, my motherboard is the Asus Z97I-Plus.
