Is there any reason for it? It's general question.

My friend told because of efficiency. But I didn't quite understand .

I am referring to dynamic ip address.

it would force you to log back into netflix and the ISP does not want to cause this
This reasoning is made up. The ISP doesn’t give two hoots about that, plus the vast majority of session based authentication are driven by cookies.

They try to avoid having lots of people share the same IP if they don't have to so they will move people around to better load balance the traffic.
CGNAT determined that was a lie.

If your IP address changes mid-streaming, it WILL cause problems--just try it.

Anyone who has to manage a pool of IP addresses will tell you otherwise.
I feel like you are presenting a rebuttal for something other than my reply.

Changing an address wouldn't necessarily cause a reauthentication event. You'd have a new session establishment on the new source, although most users wouldn't notice while watching an active stream due to buffer.

Also if you're actively using an address and your DHCP lease expires then you probably want to change equipment, since lease renewal is a very simple function for a DHCP client.

You posted incorrect rebuttals to every bit of fact in this thread. So I am simply pointing that out for the readers.

While technically that is the way it is supposed to work, buffers run out and then they are not smart enough to re-authenticate. An IP change DOES cause issues. Like I said, try it and see for yourself.

You're arguing a point that I'm not arguing against, so you're off topic my dude.

Please explain the authentication mechanism in DHCP, because you're spewing garbage while presenting a straw man argument.

My IP lease changes (Fios) and does cause my stream, game, and Chat software to re-log in.
It only happens about once every 4-6 weeks and it always happens between midnight and 2am so I'm thinking they are rebooting equipment and my IP changes when my connection changes to a new server.

It is not my router, I use dedicated IP's in the house.

Not arguing any point--just presenting information that is correct since yours is NOT--that may address the OPs root cause as OP has not precisely stated it.

Your attacks are not needed here. Go and check the scenario on your own equipment.
