Question Why does my C drive keep losing space whenever I play a game?

As I play a game on my laptop, the space in my C drive slowly gets used up until I'm facing significantly dropped FPS and eventually the game crashes or the laptop just does not work properly. I've tried freeing up space, venturing deep into all folders to delete all the cached data. I've got an app called Ccleaner to free up space as well, but all these things only amount to a temporary solution.

The strangest thing is the game is not even installed on my C drive; it's in an external SSD. I have an HP omen 15, 10th gen with RTX 2070 Max-Q.

Game recording going on?

What size is the drive in the laptop?

Install and run either WinDirStat, or WizTree.

Run as Administrator, selecting only the drive in question.
Post a screencap here.

Also, a screencap of your Disk Management window.

Hello, thanks for responding to my distress call.

The C drive is a 256 GB SSD and I have an external SSD which is 512 GB.

I shall do as you've instructed and then I'll post here.
