[SOLVED] Why does my computer randomly restart?

My PC will restart itself while I'm using it everyday. 90% of the time it happens within 10 minutes of turning on but on occasion it'll shutdown randomly. I've checked tempatures for cpu and gpu and everything is normal. I'm not sure what other kind of diagnostics I could run to figure out the cause, however I suspect it's the power supply since I didn't replace it when building a new PC last year. I don't want to get a new one for no reason so is there another common cause of this or a way to find out the cause? Thanks.

You can try freeware HWinfo to check PSU voltages but it's not as accurate as a hardware test by a professional. If you have an obvious voltage problem it may tell you. Install and run the app with 'sensors only'. Minimize to taskbar (don't close) and run a game for a few minutes. Close the game and look at the voltages to check for problems. There's tons of info to sift through and it's a valuable tool for checking many things.

+12 volt is the main rail to check and the value should stay at spec of +-5% of 12 volts (11.4 to 12.6) regardless of system load. If you can get / borrow a known working PSU it may be a good way to see if yours is problematic. If you are able to go this route be sure to use all the cables that come with the other PSU. Do not use your cables with a different brand/model PSU. This can result in disaster.

Using an old PSU for a new build is not a very good idea unless it's a high end model and even so, it's best if it still has warranty time left on it. Yours is not a very good model but should be able to power your system if working correctly. There may be other issues with it unrelated to voltages that you can't really check yourself so keep that in mind and the problem you're having may not be related to the PSU at all.

If temperatures are fine, then the PSU is the best bet. It's really a poor-quality, cheaply made PSU, and very old at this point, and should never have been paired with an RTX 2060. So the next step is obvious and easy.
