Hi everyone!

I recently started to encounter crashes or black screens with my pc whenever I start my games, specifically nba 2k25 and deadlock.

When I first encountered this problem I would only experience it in mid-game. My screen would just turn black but I could hear the game audio and I could hear the communications in the discord app. This problem would be intermittent but recently it seems to have gotten worse. Now I wouldn't be able to launch the game and the audio of the games would fail and id experience the black screen. My PC would also restart sometimes.

I understand that this means that one or two of my components have problems but it would be great if you guys can help narrow down the possible causes.

Mobo: ROG Crosshair VIII Hero X570
CPU: Ryzen 5600
GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 ti FTW
RAM Corsair Vengeance Pro 4000Mhz (4 x 8GB)
SSD: Samsung 970
PSU: Corsair 850

Thank you in advance!

Corsair 850 power supply
Corsair is the brand of the PSU while 850W is the advertised wattage of the unit. What is the model of the unit? You can tell off the stickered side of the PSU. Can you please include the age of the unit as well?

BIOS version for your motherboard?

Try and use DDU to remove all GPU drivers(intel, AMD and Nvidia) in Safe Mode, then manually install the latest GPU driver sourced from Nvidia's support site in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

My PC would also restart sometimes.
What sort of temps do you see when you experience the reboots?

Hi Friend!

The PSU is around 4 year more or less. It is an RM850 gold.

I would experience the crashes with my GPU temp at 49c. The crashes would happen even if I would just start my PC and launch my games.

Bios version is the same as when I built my PC and I have not changed any of the components or even the OS.

Hello everyone! I apologize for the late feedback due to some tasks I had to finish. Over this past few days I managed to do some troubleshooting and here are some of the things that I have done:

1. Reformatted pc.
2. Updated Mobo bios.
3. Uninstalled GPU drivers via DDU and reinstalled everything.
4. Tested my RAM through memtest and found no errors.
5. Stress tested GPU via Heaven for 30 mins at ultra multiple times and experienced no errors.
6. Used cinebench to test CPU multiple times while monitoring with AMD Ryzen master and no errors.

After doing this steps I was able to play deadlock at lowest settings without crashing but when I play games like NBA 2k25 and Undisputed the pc experiences black screens after the games starts up.

Any more suggestions?

Thank you.

Hello everyone!

Just to update and hopefully help other people when they experience this similar problem.

I did some parts swapping and it has been confirmed that the PSU is the problem. I upgraded to a higher capacity (1200) and fixed the problem.

Thank you everyone who made there suggestions and helped!
