[SOLVED] Why does my PC restart whenever I launch a game ?

So starting on Friday, my pc randomly restarted while I was in the middle of a Fortnite game. I though this was odd but didn't think much else of it. Saturday it was much worse. At first my pc wasn't giving me any problems, but then it restarted again while I was in the middle of a game. I was confused but I relaunched the game after the restart. It restarted again, this time much faster than the first two times. At this point I decided to try Valorant and see. Same result. Tried CS:GO. Same result.

I have tried uninstalling and updating graphics card drivers, I reset the PC, I turned off automatic restart in settings. The one thing that kept my pc from crashing during a game was reapplying the thermal paste. That kept my pc running Valorant for about an hour before restart. At this point I don't know what to do because I have been having so many problems with this computer. I bought an all new CPU and motherboard in the beginning of the pandemic, I had to buy a new ssd and ram in the middle of the pandemic due to ssd failure even though it was relatively new, and the ram was corrupted. I am turning to this forum as a last resort before I sell everything for parts and start from scratch. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My specs are:

Asus B450M-PLUS Gaming
a GTX Geforce 970
Ryzen 2600x
500gb sk ssd
16 gb ddr4 ram

Also, the PC runs fine while doing anything else, such as using aimlab, downloading things, and using chrome.

Your PSU, as I stated earlier, is not very good. Google it yourself. That's why I suggested borrowing a friends PSU and see if that works. Or, you could purchase a new one, from a site where you can return it, and see if the new one works.

If you can borrow a friends PSU to test with, that would be good. Also, what are your GPU temperatures like?
I’ll let you know when I get home, I’m at the park right now . However, I thought that the GPU might be overheating and I literally set up a fan to blow on my pc to cool it. The problem was I couldn’t see what the temps tire was like in game because the pc now restarts almost immediately after the games loading/lobby screen shows up

Did you reapply the thermal paste to the CPU or the GPU?

Mine idles at 27C, but that is probably lower than average. I would say a good temperature range when not gaming is between 30 and maybe 40? My Afterburner fan profile is pretty aggressive. It always run at least at 40% up to 30C then rises 10% for every 10 degree increase.

What is your CPU temperature like? If it's alright, then my guess is you PSU is failing and can no longer handle the load to power your GPU when gaming.
It idles at about 40 degrees celcious. I dont understand why this is happening because I just used a psu calculator and I should only need a 500W pwr supply or less. I've only been using mine for about 3-4 years
