I am looking at building a new ryzen system and the ram I have chosen says it is compatible with z170 and x99 but not am4. Does it matter or will it work with am4 anyways.

Here is the ram on Newegg-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-231-967

Thanks

The best way to find if its compatible is to go to your motherboard manufacturer's website and find the memory qvl for your specific board. This is just a list of different ram that has been tested for compatibility with your motherboard. However, the ripsaws v ram has been known to work with am4 motherboards. BTW ryzen is highly effected by ram speed so if you can afford it try buying ram with a higher clock speed (3000mhz is optimal for peak performance/price).
