[SOLVED] Why does rapid mode on Samsung SSD give so fast sequential speed?

I just maxed up my laptop completely. So it now sports both a Samsung 980 EVO plus and the 870 EVO 2.5 SSD. The 980 doesn't support rapid mode, but the 870 evo does.

If I enable rapid mode on 870 Sequential read on jumps from 550 MB/s / 530 MB/s read/write to a whopping 5266 / 5054 mb/s,

Can someone explain how come this happens?

as rgd said its the way in which the cache is used.

It is using part of your RAM as a cache for the 870.
That uber performance number is reading your RAM speed, not the drive.

I tried it for a while. Saw no actual user facing benefit.
So I turned it off.
