[SOLVED] Why does the rx 570 saphire nitro+ have 14 pins connectors?

So i was just windows shopping and I saw the sapphire nitro+ rx 570, and I realize it has a 14 pin connector. Why does it need 14 pin connector when the rx 570 only need 8 pin connector?

It is a factory overclocked version that needs extra power.

The 6 pin is supplementary power and helps with stability.

Yup, geofelt nailed it. Just because a reference design only uses a certain power configuration doesn't mean that AIB offerings, especially overclocked ones, are going to offer identical power configurations.

And, to be honest, if it so happens that your PSU doesn't have enough PCIE connectors to have an eight-pin and a six-pin, it's probably low-quality enough that you shouldn't be running an RX 570 on it anyway.

Not all cards are the same. Cards with an overclock can easily exceed the limits of the reference design and will need an additional connector.

I have owned one of these. They will work with just the single 8 pin connected, but it is best to connect the extra 6 pin.
