Hi, today my EVGA 750 ti SC edition arrived and i took it out the box and replaced my old graphics card (gt 545) with it. But, when i booted up my computer, it went to the boot up screen where it shows the hp logo and it stayed there. After that i heard several beeps and after around one minute, i heard three more beeps and my pc shut down. On the box it says that i need a 400w minimum power supply but i have a 460w power supply! Please help!

My pc: HP Pavilion h8-1270ea

Why does the first reply in this HP Support Forum thread say that their Radeon R9 290X has exactly the same problem?

Yes.

Yeah. Ok, i'm gonna go and restart the CMOS.

Well without much luck it didn't work, But, i noticed something, the graphics card's fan is trying to move but it can't. I guess my motherboard doesn't support this graphics card. What should i do now?

What should i do now?

I dont really know i dont think there is a bios update for that mobo you can try to call hp support and see what they say. Other than that i think a new motherboard may be your only option.

Ok thanks! Btw, if i choose a different motherboard, i have to make sure that it is compatible with everything else in my pc (like cpu, cpu fan, power supply, pci-e slots) right? Is there anything else that i need to take into consideration when choosing a different motherboard?

What cpu do u have?

I have a Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz

Does it matter if the chipset is different?

No. H67 is probably a bit better for you, i think Q67 is for bushiness so its not ideal but its the only thing i can find that will definitely fit in your case.

I guess i'll buy a case that can fit ATX motherboards then.

Thank you for all the replies everyone! Even though we never fixed the problem. We were able to identify the issue and came up with a solution. I'm just gonna get a new case and motherboard and convert all of my components over to there.

Thank You!!!

Did you look at the description of the motherboard? It specifically states Micro ATX. The -M designation in the model number is for Micro ATX.

I am aware the asrock motherboard that you just posted is micro atx. Im saying that the pegatron motherboard in his computer right now is uATX. So do you the that micro atx asrock board will fit?
