Question Why has my dual graphics card stopped showing my Nvidia graphics?

So, I just bought a 1440p monitor and had my laptop using the settings that came up when it connected to the monitor, which was not in 1440p. When I went to start playing Fallout NV, Nvidia brought up a "balloon" stating a preference to change to 1440p, which I did and then it brought up the same balloon again after I had already done that, so I checked the display settings and it was still 1440p, but it had changed the refresh rate from 100 back to 60 as it would normally be in the laptop's normal settings. I changed the refresh rate back to 100Hz and then went back into Fallout, only for the monitor to instantly lose signal. And now I can't go into my Nvidia control panel and I can't find anything anywhere to tell me that I actually have a Nvidia card, instead it will only show the Intel integrated graphics. Any help would be grand, because otherwise I'm going to stomp this stupid laptop and spend money on a desktop instead.
