For gaming I would rather have a 144hz monitor. I own a 144hz monitor and would never look back, I love it. However depending on the model and if you want some sort of adaptive sync tech like gsync or freesync they can get a bit expensive.

I have heard that going from a 60hz to 75hz monitor is still quite noticeable to most people.
If you are playing a game at 300fps on a 60hz screen there is certainly tearing. It may not be very noticeable but it is. Tearing tends to be even less noticeable when running at say 300fps on a 144hz monitor versus 60hz. Fast sync could also be used to reduce tearing when running such a high framerate on a 60hz monitor.

I am not sure if many CSGO youtubers just edit tearing out somehow, or the way youtube renders the video just doesn't show it very well. I am not too familer with that process.

If you play CSGO on a 60hz monitor at 300fps I would imagine there would be some noticeable tearing. Without something like fast sync.
