Ok guys, I'll give you a little hint about how to deal with a big company and get what you really want. I work for one and I see it happen this way all the time.

First, never use their after sales customer support. They are usually untrained people who just read from some trouble-shooting guide in the instruction book, they know nothing.

Second, never start at the bottom. Since Asus is a "public company" look up their chairman or someone who is high up on the food chain. Send them a written letter (or printed copy of your email) with your contact information, email, phone number, address and your complaint. Be firm but not rude! 99.9% of the time you won't really get the chairman to read your letter. You usually end up getting a secretary who then forwards your request to someone who can really help. If you don't get a response in a week, send another letter and send it to more than one person. Keep doing this for a week or two and next thing you know, you will end up with about 5 people calling you to make sure the "upper management" doesn't hear about you. Just remember, don't give up and keep pestering until you get what you want.

Every computer i have or had has run on a asus motherboard for hte past 8 years. I have yet to have a problem with any of them. Currently im running 2 computers (was 3) on the a8n sli delux only problem with that board and every single board on the market that uses a chipset fan is they fail big deal everyone knows that. Word of advice dont run stock. Stock is garbage always has been always will be. Every motherboard i have has had the stock cooling ripped off and a new one put in its place. Last job i had i managed a tech department in a comp shop where thier main hardware was MSI lighton and some other random junk. Never in my life have i seen so many defective pos computers in my life. I think i quit when they decided to add soyo to thier lineup of hardware. All i can say after reading half this post is you are way over reacting for nothing. If i was asus i would simply ignore you for this stupid email you sent them. To me though customer support is only good if you dont need to use it. Which 99% of the time with what i buy i dont and when i do i already know they know nothing about the problem im going to have. I already know I'm not going to send my motherboard or whatever product back to be replaced. I know in almost any case they will not be able to help in anyway, And i know i cant sit there for 20 minutes going through a script of stuff i have already done and know wont work. Your complaint about asus could reflect on any and every company out there big deal get over it. The warrenty explains you can get a replacment or repair of your defective product. Refunding depends on the company you got it from. Being a ass ina email doesnt get you anywhere. Dont like asus? dont buy asus buy some other companys boards be blind to the fact they will most likely be the same and youll ignore that untill you have to find out. DEFECTS WILL HAPPEN.
 
Dude, just "ctrl +C +P" your previous post into a word document and print it... Put it in an envelope and add a stamp... that easy no work at all.

Most companies don't read forums and will never know of your problems. Fortunately most (not all by any means) companies really do want to have good products. Unfortunately they just have crappy middle management types who only care about getting their product out. :-( For a big company you sending out rants will never be able to reach enough people to have a serious impact on their sales (the only thing that really matters in the corporate world).

Most of the time "upper management" doesn't know their company released a crapy product and they won't be able to "correct" the mid level peon Product Manager who authorized the crapy product release. As for their crappy customer support, they won't know about it unless someone complains to someone who matters...

If you send the letter(s) you will have more of an impact saving others from going though the same crap you have than you ever will by flaming them on a forum that only a few thousand people may read…

As for the selfish "What's in it for me" part, you will get your problem fixed AND you will most likely end up with some free loot to just shut you up. ;-)

Who the Hell would think to check PSU compatability with a MOTHERBOARD.

Me for one. I check compatability with all the parts i buy. I have yet to get a compatability issue with asus or any other motherboard but MSI but it does happen with all manufacturers.

But yeah MSI is the only nightmare board i have ever used with the massive compatability issues it had when i had to build 10 systems with that board a day. Never had a problem with a asus system in the past 7 yeas of only using thier boards in my personal array of system builds which all from the k6-2 to my 4800+ are still operating on my lan today.

I think you got me mixed up with someone else i was only commenting on the asus is a horrible company thing i could care less about the p5b 😛 as far as i can tell the board sux at least if i go by all the posts i have ever seen about it. but that board doesnt make asus suck.

Edit. Not everything every companys is all good or all bad i just go with the companys that i have had the best of luck with over the last 14 years of computer building for the thousands of customers i have built for in that reguard the two best board makers was asus and gigabyte and the two worst were msi and soyo.

Moderators, its time you do something, TG Forums has a bad reputation, and its only getting worse..
 
once, i owned a P5K-SE, seems something is wrong so i have it replaced in the dealer...tested the new one again. i admit i come nearly stomping it under my feet...it has tantrums same as the first one, i updated the BIOS and it getting worse until it just went kaput....goodbye my $ 80, used it only fro 2 months.
 
The only problem with ASUS is don't take the Email route if you have a product problem, get on the phone and call them directly and you will get results so fast it will astonish you, and this statement comes from a former ASUS basher!

ASUS themselves solved and replaced whatever, so as for ASUS as a company selling computer hardware, and standing behind their products, they are excellent!

You can always get a lemon, of any product on the planet, but its how the company deals with it that really matters, and ASUS did just fine in my book!

Now if ASUS can prove you've overclocked something to the point you've fried it up yourself, you'll probably have a problem, but otherwise No Problems!
 




What exactly is your complaint about?

You talk about moderators but you started this thread, and you should have had enough sense to know you started a flame thread!

If you're going to state something here at THGF be prepared to backup 100% what you say, or get ready to get spanked!

As a former moderator IMO the only thing they've done wrong is they should have deleted your thread time you started it!

You cannot just make statements here and run and hide from the results, you say, "Too Much Children, Too Much Flame... This Place is Crazy..." and what have you done right here with this thread?

I definitely disagree!!!!

You should have been here about 5 years ago, THGF is definitely better!

Just make sure you're fully educated in what you comment about before you make the statement, and you'll be just fine, that doesn't mean you won't face a difference of opinion, just that you can successfully argue your point!
