Why is dsl so slow

Hello,
i have verizon dsl and my internet is really really really slow. says im supposed to have 54 mbps speed but it is way less and my ping is awful and my upload and download speeds are atrocious

So you're actually talking about wireless speeds ? Or have you tried connecting the computer to the router by ethernet cable to see if the speed improves ?

dsl always slow its part of the phone line.. The data throughput of consumer DSL services typically ranges from 384 KB/s to 20 Mbit/s in the direction to the customer, depending on DSL technology, line conditions, and service-level implementation. Typically, the data throughput in the reverse direction, i.e. in the direction to the service provider is lower, hence the designation of asymmetric service so this means that dsl sucks haha gotta get cable or FIOS
