Question Why is fortnite lagging so bad on my new monitor?

I just bought a new monitor to hook up to my laptop (a pretty beefy gaming laptop) and it’s causing uncontrollable lag spikes. I’ve tried optimizing the game settings. Also my laptop uses intel graphics settings and can’t adjust the monitor’s display settings.
