Why is my 3DMark06 score crappy?

Hi all,
I have a Q6700 CPU @ 2.66ghz, and a 1gb Sapphire HD4670 gfx card. My RAM is 4GB.

My 3DMark06 score is coming in at a measly 7739 despite me closing all other applications inc. my virus checker.

Any ideas what is the bottleneck? Oh, my OS is Windows XP.

As long as your games play like they should who cares what a synthetic benchmarks says?

it looks normal, if you want to improve it get rid of the background stuff eg virus protection, sreensaver, background screen etc
do a diskclean old temp files etc delete all old files and games you dont need and then do a defrag and try again
