Question Why is my audio distorted!?

I'm currently using headphones with my newly built PC. The sound for the past two days has been perfect. Tonight, I was using the computer when all of a sudden the audio cuts out and comes back with MAJOR distortion.

I'm not sure why this is happening and have already tried the following to remedy the situation:

1. restart device
2. reconnect the hd audio pins to the motherboard
3. Uninstall Logitech G Hub, as i've heard people discussing issues related to audio
4. uninstall drivers and restart the computer
5. plug the headphone cable into audio jack at varying degrees ( I managed to return to mono audio, but i don't believe this is a solution)

I'm starting to believe that the issue lies with the audio jack cables themselves. Any solutions or ideas?
