Why is my fps so low

Hello guys,
lately, i have been playing cod4 a lot and have noticed that my fps is much lower then i want it to be. When i join a game my fps is 250+, but 1 minute in, and it drops to around 20 - 30. I dont know why this is, so im hoping you can help me

My specs
Graphics Card | Nvidia GeForce GTS 360m
Processor | Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 2.27 GHz
RAM | 4GB
Laptop | ASUSTeK Republic of Gamers G60Jx

Make sure your laptop has sufficient cooling..gaming laptops tend to overheat like nothing else.
