I have 16GB of ram and for some reason it idles around 40% when basically nothing is open but nothing is using anything more than 100MB other than discord.
With 16gb, shouldn't it not be that much? It goes up to 70 or 80 when I'm playing games like overwatch or apexwindows use ram as cache.
I've minimized what runs in the background. I've been looking stuff over, could it be that the speed of my ram is the issue? It's a Kingston XJ69DF-MIE DDR4 but runs at 1200MhzHave you checked in your task manager you might have resources opened up or apps that run in background or startup that maybe ram heavy
Unused memory is wasted memory. Windows tries to put as much of your memory to use as possible, caching your most commonly used apps and data for fastest response. This cache will be reduced or eliminated when and as needed. Don't worry about it.With 16gb, shouldn't it not be that much? It goes up to 70 or 80 when I'm playing games like overwatch or apex
Could be. Are you running it in dual channel and what motherboard/cpu do you have?I've minimized what runs in the background. I've been looking stuff over, could it be that the speed of my ram is the issue? It's a Kingston XJ69DF-MIE DDR4 but runs at 1200Mhz
