Hello!

So I was wondering why is this GAINWARD GeForce GTX 1070, 8GB, DDR5, DVI, HDMI, DP (not the phoneix edition) so much cheaper than any other 1070. What is wrong with it, The GPU Clockspeed is a little lower but with overclocking I doubt it is much worse. It's still a 1070 yet it's a 150$ cheaper than this ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Strix, 8GB, DDR5, DVI, HDMI, DP?

Am I missing something? perhaps it doesn't support SLI? It can't be overclocked? Heat issues?
I am really close to buying this card but I don't want to get screwed (pardon my french)

anyway, would really like some help from you guys. Thanks in advance!

Link to the card:

Solution

Lesser known brand = can't ask money cause we are a big company (best example is apple) so we need to offer it cheap to get sales. Also that cooler isn't as good as asus's coolers but still the card will run.

I mean, It''s not like it's PALIT 1070. Gainward is a known company yet the PALIT 1070 is about 50$ more.
So you recon I should get it and don't worry? I'm not sure man it smells fishy

thanks for the response! 😀

Can you show me the link you are getting it from.
Also Gianward is better know but still not big enough to ask the prices of the bigger company's.

No problem man, but I'm not sure it will help you as you probably do not know the language.

Also info-wise 1$=7,14kn (the currency in Croatia)

That is so weird if this is a trusted site then go for it. That is a really good deal.

also, I want to say. It's not benchmarked anywere.

there is no mention of the gainward one, there is no review on Youtube. It's like it doesn't exist haha

It is the biggest IT store in Croatia, I have bought numerous items from there. It is a physical store not a web shop if you get what I am saying. It's not the store, it's the card

I found a review in dutch on a site that I use too compare prices of products where I live and they said cools good but doesn't reach that high of a boost clock compared to other cards. However these only result in about a 3% difference in performance and for the price difference it's worth it.

and

Is reasonably quiet but can get loud when the fans start spinning during prolonged gaming session.

This is of course translated by me so some grammatical errors may occur 😛
