Why is the i5 not up to par when it comes to Watch Dogs?

When looking at what's best for gaming, an i5 or i7, people always say an i5 is the best for the money. "The i7 is only a little bit better than the i5 in gaming. If gaming is the ONLY concern, it is not worth the extra money at this time" (CTurbo). Reason being because games don't utilize hyper-threading and i7's are better for video editing and what not. So why does the i5 fall short in Watch Dogs, will future games now start to utilize hyper-threading?

You are comparing an extreme editon i7 6 core with a midrange i5.
What about this?

It is true that it runs better on a 4 core i7 but is it worth it? Will Watch Dogs be the standard or an extreme exception?
If you have the cash go for a 6 core extreme i7.
Also Hyper Threading does not have to be 'supported'. If a game needs more cores it will use logical cores(SMT/HyperThreading).
