Why Is This Core i7 so Cheap

So I'm searching ebay and there is so many posts for the Intel Core i7-930 that are under $100. Are these really legit. I mean a i7 for under 100 really?

It's just several CPU generations old.

If this is where you'd like your budget to be, you can also look at newer i5's and expect similar performance.

it's a first generation Nehalem core i7; 6+ years old

furthermore, i'd probably note the seller and never ever buy anything from that seller on ebay. marking that product as new(other) is a lie among lies. The only products that should ever receive that rating are open box products that were never used. this guy is pulling these chips out of computers that have been powered on and calling them new.
