[SOLVED] Why isn't my SSD becoming boot drive?

Hey guys, I am trying to move my OS from my HDD to SSD and found this guide to follow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H7D1HcfY9o

I did basically the same steps but I think my PC is still booting up with the HDD. I unplugged the HDD and it kept sending me to the bios menu when trying to boot. I checked the SSD and it contains the same folders as the HDD (as it should be).

As it shows in the BIOS menu, the HDD is the "Windows Boot Manager" so it boots on the HDD.

Any advice?

I'm not going to follow that whole vid, but some questions.

1. Can you return the system back to original state, without the SSD?
2. If so, please show us a screencap of the Disk Management window
3. What size/make/model is the new SSD?
4. How much space is consumed on the current C drive?
5. What OS are you working with?

1. Yes because I didnt delete the OS on original HDD
2. Will try, im doing something rn
3. SATA6G_3 KINGSTON SA400S37240G (240 gb)
4. Rougly 100 gb
5. Windows 10

Then just redo the clone operation.

Thusly:

Specific steps for a successful clone operation:

Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
This is to allow the system to try to boot from ONLY the SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe all partitions on it.
This will probably require the commandline diskpart function, and the clean command.

Ask questions if anything is unclear.

Well, I did all those steps twice besides for having my portable driver plugged in the whole time. Would that make a difference?

same as described. Its not detecting the cloned OS. But it is okay. I decied I will just save the important files in the portable drives and do a complete reinstallment for windows. I have a key and can use it again with a few steps that worked with me before

Okay, this is intresting, so I didnt do a reinstall for windows. I just waited some time and then suddenly it detected the OS in SSD. I am not sure what caused it maybe it just needed some time to "process" the OS so it can detect it.
