Question Why my Gtx 1080 gaming x shows gray boxes then restart after like 2hours 100% full load

Hi recently I bought gtx 1080 msi gaming x with broken fans I set the fan speed to 30% and the power limit to 67% so the gpu core temp is 67 at full load after like 2-3 hours of mining the gpu starts showing gray boxes then my pc restarts is it gpu memory overheating? And will it be fixed by installing new fans?

Could you elaborate on broken fans ?
