hi people i wanted to buy important & primary part of my new rig , Motherboard . but stuck on choosing one this 2 options
1.P55A UD3
2.H55m-USB3

i asked before & they say P55A UD3 is better for gaming . now which one is better for Gaming & latest hardwares ? & why ?

i agree with sir philus, i cant believe you guys want him to get an x58 system, that is just a waste of money as far as i am concerned

Nice accusation. Try to be accurate, esp. when accompanied with unnecessary inflammatory language.

My comments have been offered in the context of OP's stated uses and needs, to keep in his budget and to future proof his system, and to avoid future bottlenecks from the alternate (Gigabyte) board with only a modest $50 investment. He could save further by overclocking an i3 admittedly losing some capabilities with new games as they roll out over next few years and a few existing ones.

No one is suggesting a P55 can compete with the x58's extra bandwidth. Sure, one can always spend a few hundred more for better results on the margin as I indicated.... but, his uses and needs will not benefit from that marginal investment.

Lets not flame.

Cheers.

Gigabyte x58 board, WITH 10% OFF code, this is admittedly tempting. Look at those pcie slots!! The Asus x58 board referenced earlier has way to few pcie slots.

this is not not for OP, but if you have pcie 3 tuner cards like I do and want more x16 slot flexibility....

too bad those i7 cpus are really $280+ unless you have microcenter in your neighborhood you can walk into... which VERY few do.

Which keeps it in the "No Brainer", as in "not to do".

P67 in the spring will probably be the way to go (1158 socket)...... or when the Asus e Pro drops in price to $125! :)

Thanks for all Information , anyway i agree with sir Philus . his right no need to get higher mobo when that ( lower ) mobo can provide me . no need to get SLI of GTX 460 when single 5850 can provide me ,& no need to get i7 930 when i5 760m is realy high to provide me . i found very good results from i5 760 in this site :
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/CPU/49
& i saw it is even higher than Q9550 , isnt it ? its important question please answer , is it right that i5 760 is that high than Q9550 or even Q9675 as i saw in BENCHS , if its like that , i5 760 will be great option for me .

so as u can see GORDON - 81 , Q9650 is so expensive & rated High END cpus & i 760 is much higher . how someone can say that it wont provide me , look here man i am only useing 1440 REZ . i think u & mr Philus is right about that . its just an overkilling so overkill mean if some options goes higher in future like , games get higher , or i get biger monitor then rest of hardwares not gonna stop working & they keep providing me

Question is : why Q9650 that is real quad core is lower than i5 760 that is dual core in real & can handle 4 threads ? how it does happen? even Q9650 is 12MB chache whereas i5 760 is 8MB , please explain .

no i havnt even saw it , lol . but ui heard a lot about it , people around me say its gaming MOBO & its perfect for new hardwares . i just wanted to know that what tomshardware members will say . 1156 is definitely better & higher than 775 Sockets , no ?

does this hardwares match with togother?
ATI 5850 , i5 760 2.8GHZ , P55A UD3 , 4GB 1333MHZ DDR3 ram , & corsair 650 TX ?

is it suitable or as u people say ( overkiller ) system for 1440 rez ? how long i will be satisfy with this rig ? ( i dont think games need more than this rig )

I put 2 links on last page for you re bottleneck issue.

Socket 775 can keep up with 1156. Its really the cpu that dictate results, and overclocking..and somewhat memory. Given same GPU.

Get a Vertex 2 OCZ SDD!!! The Hard drive is the biggest bottleneck on the boards still.

Apparently, you do thrive on smarting off. Both the Gigabyte X58 UD3R & UD5 have confirmed hardware failures with SSD and HDD whereas the ASUS does not have that problem.

@Solo1 "...keep in his budget and to future proof his system..." Really!?

You are stuck on today and not looking down the road most P55 suffer from poor PCIe performance after the fist PCIe is filled X16/ X4/X0 versus X58 X16/X8/X8. So unless you love running old games or buying an new PC or replacing your GPU as you will on a P55 then that's what you should do and live with your mistakes. Otherwise on an X58 simply add a Second or Third GPU as you need them and save your system. Sorry if that's too much for you to realize or understand. As mentioned earlier the ASUS P6X58D-E is a smart decision now for the future, and even worst case $100 or less it's the smartest choice and a true future proof.

I find people are most guilty of what they accuse others of. Tried to be polite but you are more of the same. Que sera.

REALY ? HDD is cause of bottleneck ? but as i know u can set that where ur programs & game should run to , u can set in primary memory which is RAM & doesnt have any work with hard , so if tis like that hard cant bottleneck , but away i am using SAMSUNG 320 GB . lets get back to my QUESTION , with the hardwares that i choosed can i have goo gaming experment with that 1440 rez ? or i have too change my HDD too ? should i even get other mobo but P55A UD3 ?

SDD helps mostly with boot and shutdown speed , app. launch, file transfers. As far as I have read not too much affect while gaming.

You will be great for your expressed needs with what you are considering!

oh thank god to hear that , so HDD doesnt have any influx on games , you know i think its because of that games & apps run in the RAM , & not in HDD uless we set to they run in virtual memory ( HDD ) , so & new CPU & RAMS & mobo wont help me get better transfer SPEED whereas my mobo has USB 3.0 ?

realistically you could go Socket 775, q8400 or better, good memory and miss nothing at your planned resolutions and very little at somewhat higher resolutions, esp. if you overclock.

If it were me, I'd seriously consider finding great discount deal / rebate on Socket 775 P45, and memory and cpu and spend $320-350 for all three components. And not have to spend $460+ for 1156 or $575+ for x58. Make sure get right number of pcie slots (4 or more) I just bought a q8400 for $145 at ewiz. One of top cpu's bang for buck at passmark site.

The Asus p5q Pro Turbo fits the bill and was $100 after rebate 2 weeks ago. Highly recommended...check it out...... It's got a good slot (i.e. pcie 4+) for adding usb3 / Sata 6gb card down the road and not mess with your pcie x16 graphics card.

You would probably suffer some consequences with best / new games over next few years. Research that!

JMHO.

True, but its cheap and gets the job done without any real sacrifice. And you can add usb3 and Sata III card o adopt new devices. The fact that it will just become 2nd generation in the spring is more of a psychological factor isn't it? Plenty of good cpu's available to drive it.

Amazingly, I am seeing Gigabyte GA-e45-ud3p boards sell for $250 to $300!!

Ok wait a second , do u remember you told me that if i get P55A UD3 i will see performance hit ( because of borrowing lanes from PCI e slot ) & u told me that ASUS mobo doesnt do such thing ( which is better ) . so do u know how many other mobo do like ASUS mobos ? ( need Brand name for example MSI or... ) .

PLEASE ANSWER THIS ONE its to important , even if i ask second question , please ask this one too !

u telling me to not get P55A & u say go for X55 ( whereas its expensive & doesnt have huge diffrence ) then u say go for LGA 775 , its seem u have a personal problem with P55A UD3 . isnt P55A UD3 that good to be bought for my new rig ? i realy cant buy another option , only with that price or lower ( if there is a better option ) .

get the asus p78p55d e pro, an i5 760 and a gtx 460, you wont regret it, i myself did a lot of research for my build earlier on an i landed up getting the p7p55d e pro, a gtx 460 and an i5 760, and later on i added a second graphics card, my gtx 460 ran battlefield bad company 2 very smoothly at my resolution 1920x1080, i did not regret my buy at all and i had a post that had 22 replies in the homebuilt systems and 90% of the replies suggested that i get the exact components that i have, i had replies from timop and hunter and davcon, i do not regret my build at all and a friend of mine has an amd build with an x6 1055t and 2 5850s, and i get around 5-10 fps more than him in games and hes overclocked his x6 , the asus p7p55d e pro is an awesome motherboard, and i think x58 is a waste of time for you, yes an x58 build with an i7 930 and up would be better at cpu intensive things but in gaming there is no real time difference at all, and having 2 x16 slots will not benefit at all for the price paid for the x58 system, as said earlier 3% difference between p55 and x58 with two hd 5870s crossfired, so build that i would recommend is an i5 760, asus p7p55d e pro, gtx 460 1gb, samsung spinpoint f3 500gb or the 1tb depending how much space you want, 1 of these brands of PSUs corsair, antec, xfx, seasonic and so on, a good 650 watt should SLI two gtx 460s as its not a power hungry card like the rest of the gtx 4xx range, some gskill ram 2x2gb modules and 1 of these cases if you dont have a case, antec 300, antec 300 illusion, coolermaster haf 912, coolermaster 690II, coolermaster storm scout, coolermaster haf 922, or antec 900 etc
