Hello, i recently purchased a coolmax cul series 850 w 140mm fan, can install myself just looking for pros and cons of both the modular and native set-up for this unit ....thanx all

well, one has cables built in, and the other has cables that are detachable. One is a little cheaper, and the other is a little more expensive.
The power supply is either modular, or standard. You do not set up for modular or native. If native then the spare cables hang out in the case. If modular then you can remove some of the spare cables.

There are three types of power supply units:

Fully wired - all of the DC output cables are permanently attached to the power supply

Semi-Modular/Hybrid Modular - the mandatory DC output cables are permanently attached to the power supply and the modular cables are attached as needed.

Full Modular - all of the DC output cables are not permanently attached to the power supply.

Semi-Modular/Hybrid Modular is, in theory, a more reliable design than a Full Modular power supply unit. Making the mandatory cables detachable introduces another point of failure at the modular connector.
