Why won't my onboard ethernet connect to my router?

Just finished my computer build, and installed windows 8.1. I have a MSI Gaming 3 intel z97 motherboard, and It says it can't find any network, and won't let me connect to anything. How do I make it work? Is it not wireless or something? Do I need to buy something?

Yeah..... I put the motherboard disk in, and it said it did.

So, I moved the files onto a USB, and put the USB in my new computer, but it won't let me download anything, or let me install it.... What do I do?

Are you using a USB 3.0 or 2.0 port?

If it's 3.0, switch to a 2.0.
