Wi-fi status monitor says blazing fast, but it's simply not true

I recently moved to a new apartment that happened to have ridiculously fast internet speeds. This was quite exciting for me because I'm an avid gamer and I'd love to finally be able to download games in less than a day. However, when I moved, I discovered that for some reason my computer's internet speeds are ridiculously low, less than 1 Mbps. However, and this is where it gets weird, when I go to the wi-fi status monitor, it says I have 144 Mbps speeds. Opening Chrome or even Edge says otherwise, as it is the slowest internet I've ever seen. My PC didn't have this problem at my old apartment, and my Macbook and Mac mini both are receiving said blazing fast speeds. So what's going on with my PC? I've reseated my wireless card, I've rebooted multiple times, and ethernet isn't an option (it's down currently). I just want to game man.

Your wifi status monitor reports link Speed back to your wifi/router/AP, this nothing to do with speed put the WAN.
