Some thing got corrupted in my hard drive and after I found no solution i decided to get a new hard drive and re-install everything. I used the same disk for windows 7 as I had used on my old hard drive and it downloaded windows with no problem. Now the issue is that when I try to update windows it will just say it's checking for update, I've left it on, checking for update, for a day or 2 without turning the PC off and it still was just checking for updates. I've looked for other solutions and one the one I keep coming back to is some manual update for windows, named KB3112343, but it just says searching for updates on your computer. I need a solution please.

Solution
Did you disable Windows Update first and reboot? And then double checked in Task Manager to make sure it hasn't loaded? If it's still running in the background it won't let you manually install any patches. Then you'd need to manually download (not using Windows Update) the msu patch:

And either double click it to open or load the Windows Update Standalone Installer.

Additionally, both of those might fail if you have any partially...
Hi

If that does not work try the offline wsus project, you can download updates for a variety of windows versions and 32 and 64 bit versions
Optionally adds the service packs

Then transfer the updates to other pc's on a usb stick or dvd or over a local network

It usually fixes windows update problems at the same time

I don't think you understand. Whenever I try to manually download any of those Windows6.1 KB whatever, all that happens is it says "searching for updates on this computer". If it weren't for that I would have solved this issue already.

Hi

When I had a broken Windows update on Windows 7 I tried the Microsoft fixes which did not work

so I googled the subject and found several recomendations for wsus offline project to cure broken windows update

by broken windows update I mean the update did not progress beyond "searching for updates for this computer"

http://www.wsusoffline.net/docs/

It has worked for me several times and only failed once on a badly corrupted Windows

Additionally, both of those might fail if you have any partially loaded patches. If the above doesn't work, turn Windows Update back on and uninstall/uncheck any failed patches, and also run a system file check from an admin prompt, sfc /scannow. Then turn WU off, reboot, try again.

Solution
I upgraded CPU/Mobo, so used old parts in a case, and I had insane amounts of problems with that PoS working. I'm telling you I read every GD mofo "windows won't update", followed every freaking list to a T, and got jack. The only solution was just upgrade it to Windows 10, and it allowed it.

Now I'm on my computer with new CPU/Mobo, and despite using same old Win 7 Key, it won't let me upgrade to 10, cause new Mobo or some dumb thing.

Windows Update is now pulling the same BS bullcrap. With my old computer in a case the key made me do the telephone thing, so I expected complications. But this PC installed just fine. Basically rather than waste another weekend messing around with it.

Last time I tried manually updating Windows 7, it ran through the CMD like it was installing them, but never did anything, and my updated was still broken.

-No integrity violations
-Net Stop Wuauserv says it ain't on but can't manually install with most saying it isn't for my computer
-Windows Updater Troubleshooter says "Fixed Service Registation that was missing or corrupt BUT says NOT fixed is "Problems installing recent updates".

-Installed KB3153199, when windows restarted it looked like it installed correctly, but nothing changed still nothing will install.

I try troubleshooter anytime any update actually installs, and rerun through anything that might work, and let updater run all night, nothing. The crazy part, this happened on all computers I installed win7 in last couple months.

Basically I wondering if someone has some other option that isn't manually resetting the Windows Update Components or reinstalling Windows 7. Basically I'm already convinced myself getting Windows 10 is the only sure fire way to not waste time.
