Wife's computer freezes randomly

Hey guys so my wife has a Lenovo z410 running Windows 8.1 and it's been great (almost to the year mark) however recently if it's left idle it'll freeze after a while. It's not asleep. It was having problems with video playback for a while but then that seemed to go away when I refreshed the computer. I would try a hard reset however I don't want to void the warranty by taking it apart to unplug the battery. Any other suggestions or ideas of what it could be or should we just contact Lenovo?

EDIT: SHe just told me that every now and then it freezes when her internet changes to Limited Connectivity and an online game kept kicking her off. Is this something the WLAN card could do?

Did you run a virus and spyware scan on it?

I'd contact Lenovo first if it's in warranty, it may be RAM or a hard drive issue, motherboard also.

DOesn't seem to have a virus problem but at times it'll freeze during the scan. We're planning on contacting Lenovo but they make it so hard because they don't give you any contact information.

If you know how to remove and replace RAM do it...
