For the last two months or so my wifi has been dropping out consistently every few minutes but only on my PC, all other devices are fine. The only way I can get it back working is to reset the network adapter or the computer itself and when the wifi is online the speeds are unbearably slow. I am using an ASUS AC88 with the correct drivers installed and I have also tested another card to make sure it is not faulty but both cards experience the same problems. I have ran a clean boot to test if it is something installed on the computer that is blocking the connection but it still occurs. Honestly I am out of ideas at this point

It will help if you could provide more information.
How far is the wireless router from your computer?
What adapter does your computer have (model number) and where is it attached if USB?
What type of environment are you in -- apartment/dorm or house in the country?
Are there any specific use cases where the problem is worse, gaming, Internet surfing, or anything?

The router is directly one floor below the computer (maybe 2 metres if you take away the floor) in a house just outside a city centre and signal strength is always 100%. It is an ASUS AC88 Pci-e and have also used a TP link tl wn881nd with the same issues and the issue isn't triggered by anything, it just happens randomly. Although I have noticed it is some what more frequent when I first try to load something which uses internet, e.g. loading a web page, YouTube video etc and tends to be more stable if I'm not using it much so if I'm playing a game
