Question Wifi is bad until i re-plug wifi adapter

So basically when the PC starts up, it connects to Wi-Fi as usual, but somehow Wi-Fi's slow but only on my PC, my wifi adapter is connected to a USB Extender so i re-plugged the USB extender (which is connected to motherboard's USB port) and Wi-Fi is back to normal speed, this happened twice so far (happens on every startup) so there must be something wrong here

How do i know which component is bad?

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400
2x4GB DDR3 1333
GT 710

Do you have the latest drivers for USB controller and device in windows?

Why can't you wire the computer directly to your router for best throughput?

afaik Yes i do have the latest drivers for the USB controller, unfortunately the router's downstairs so it's too complicated to manage wiring throughout the house

Connect it directly to your pc (without any extenders).
Extender is probably placing wifi adapter in power saving mode before you replug it.

This is a weird thing that I notice on some of our older boards as well. On restart I have to pull the USB Wi-Fi dongle, boot PC than plug back in and Wi-Fi works as normal. That same Wi-Fi dongle plugged into newer systems could not care if I leave it plugged in or not.

So yeah kind of normal "ish" on our older platform computers.
