When I ping my router modem (Archer VR2100) via WiFi it periodically gets a request time out on all of my devices at the same time. I have done a number of test to try isolate the problem:

  1. Modem router which is setup and gets good pings, download and upload speeds from the router to the internet via the onboard speed test
  2. Ping from device to device periodically times out in sync with the ping to the routers WiFi
  3. Ping from PC Ethernet to the internet has no dropouts
  4. I have turned off all electronics within a 5 meter radius of the router in case of EMF and it still periodically times out
  5. Turned off both PC and routers firewall with no success
I am just wondering if there is anything else I can try to get this WiFi working properly?

192.168.1.1 log in to your wifi router with admin pass and I cant for the life of me remember but there is a wifi band tool on android for free that show's what bands are beieng used near you its free then log in the router and change the band your wifi is on have a look on youtube I had trouble when new neighboors moved in just changed the band from default to 8 I think works fine again now there is about 12 different bands of frequency too choose from.

That is actually pretty good for a wifi connection. Most times you see all kinds of spikes in the ping time along with outages. You ping time is extremely consistent almost as good as a ethernet cable.

This morning I am forgetting too much. There is some setting related to how often your machine scans for new networks. Microsoft has patched this over the years and I am unsure if this is still a issue. It was some auto config option for wifi
