is it possible to attach a wifi range extender to anew router tomake stronger signal.

Your best option would be to add a wireless access point or an inexpensive router configured as an AP with either an Ethernet cable or if that is not feasible, use a good pair of Powerline adapters. Place it at the distant location where the signal is poor from your router and use a different radio channel and your network coverage will improve dramatically.
