WILL 250W 6ohms SPEAKER WORK ON A 250W 3ohms CHANNEL AMP

CANT FIND THE 3ohms speaker to go with my system but have found the newer model tht is 6ohms will this replacment work ,
iv been reading around the net and not to sure my self so would like some help please

the system im using is the panasonic SC BT-205 ALL CHANNELS ARE 3Ω
the speaker im replacing is the centre speaker SB-HC300 3Ω 250W
but the only speaker i can find is the SB-HC480 6Ω 250W

Solution
Yes, a 6 ohm speaker will work. It won't be as loud as the other 3ohm speakers. That could be a big deficit for the center channel. If you can independently boost the center channel volume, you might be OK. No easy way to predict.
