I bought 8gb (2x4gb) of ram for my motherboard which only supports 4gb of ram if everything is compatible other than the ram size will I have any issues?

The best way is to try it. Because some motherboards may work that 8GB even though it "only supports 4GB", while some motherboards may not. It's sort of a hit-and-miss. The worst that can only happen is that the 8GB (2x4GB) ram you have will only work like a 4GB (2x2GB)... and make sure the 8GB actually fits into that motherboard slots (since you did not mention any brands/models of both the RAM and the Motherboard). So, my recommendation, just check it out, nothing dangerous will happen.

Okay because I did a scan on my computer and its reading the computer as something completely different than what the casing says that the computer is I mean everything is stock but my computer according to the casing anyway is a emachine el1850-01e which only supports 4gb of ddr3 1333, 1066, and I think 800 but according to the scan I did on crucial.com to see what my motherboard can support it says that it can hold 8gb of ddr3 ram 1333 and lower with a different model of my computer which it says acer aspire x1900 not sure what to go by but I went ahead and bought 8gb of ram I'm just confused as to why it would give me that when my model says otherwise just not sure maybe you can help out
