Question Will a low-profile RX 550 fit in a Dell Optiplex 390 SFF ?

I have an Optiplex 390 SFF with an i5-2400 and 8 GB RAM (2 x 4GB).​

Can I install a low-profile RX 550 in it? Is it compatible? What other options should I consider?​

While physically it does fit, it isn't compatible since PCI-E x16 slot is able to deliver up to 25W of power, while the RX 550 needs 50W.

Your only option is GPU that is 25W or less.

Best would be GT 1030 low-profile at 20W,

Put into Google: Optiplex 390 SFF Then, one of the results (for me, the very 1st one), has technical *.pdf that you can download. Named as "Optiplex-390-Technical-Guidebook- ...". Download that *.pdf, open it, scroll to page 16 and read the Maximum Wattage specs of PCI-E x16 slot.
That's how.

Also, do note that OP has SFF version of it, limited to 25W. DT is also limited to 25W while MT is limited to 75W.
