Question Will an i5-4460 bottleneck a GTX 1060?

If so, how significant is the bottleneck and should it be of any concern? I've been considering a GPU upgrade for a while, but I never felt that the CPU needed a change.

Assuming 1080p it will depend on the game. CPU heavy games will be limited by the cpu and may be unpleasant to play. Other games will be fine.
This might be a broad question, but what CPU would be the most compatible? I'm looking to keep it in the i5 range (on a budget), but I'm open to other recommendations.

Hello,
I'm actually using the said combination at the moment (i5 4460 and asus 1060 6gb) and I don't experience any bottlenecking or performance issues at 1080p. What games are you intending to play?

Thanks for the answer. I'm currently looking to play DMC5, Bloodstained, Shadow Warrior 2, the Doom reboots and other recent titles my 750ti can barely run (on 1080p, not intending to change this anytime soon). Also seeking to futureproof my PC with the 1060.

The next gen of Ryzen is hitting the streets in 14-15 days...

As Ryzen 3600X is allegedly at 9700K gaming levels, it would be the thing to keep an eye out for if pondering an upgrade soon anyway...

(Testing 2 years ago showed an i5-7500 was required to 99% saturate a GTX1060; now, of course, most 4c/4t processors are somewhat thread challenged in many newer games..)

I'm not too familiar with Devil May Cry and Bloodstained but I've played through Doom 2016 multiple times on this computer at ultra settings and it was a very smooth experience. There might have been a few rare occasions where I dropped below 60 fps however, it didn't really impact the overall experience in a negative way. I'm actually looking forward to the new Doom but it's hard to tell what the performance is going to be like on this computer. I hope this helps.
Cheers :)
