Will an i5 6400 bottleneck a GTX 1080?

Hello, my friend recently bought a pre-built PC that has an i5 6400 in it and a GTX 970. Since the 1080 is coming out at such an affordable price point he is wanting to upgrade and was wondering if the i5 will bottleneck the 1080. Thank you ahead of time

Most of the time, no I don't think it will be a problem. There might be some really CPU heavy games where the low clockspeed of the i5 6400 might wind up hurting a bit, though it won't render anything unplayable.
