Will GTA V come to PC? If so, when will it likely do so?

Well, nothing has been officially announced yet so....
But, I think it will most defiantly come to PC. They are just waiting, getting all the PC gamers excited and then BAM! its our for PC. Thats kinda what they did with GTA 4 and it worked. Only makes since to do it again.

Most speculation including this from Intel http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/10/08/intel-on-gta-5-pc-release-i-dont-think-it-will-be-console-exclusive-very-long/ expects it to come to PC very soon but as Zckl states it has not been officially announced that it ever will.

Hello Irrelative. First of all Rockstar Games are not even thinking of releasing any PC game but I'm looking forward to it. GTA 5 originally has been released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. They said nothing about PC. I was a bit sad in first too but now I'm waiting for Assassins Creed 4 from Ubisoft which is confirmed on PC.

I think GTA V will be coming to PC in the near future (i don't know when). I heard NVIDIA has been working with many game makers like Rockstar Games, Activision, Ubisoft to port their popular titles to PC. Besides, NVIDIA already leaked the information about the release of GTA V on PC. So you should prepare the budget if you want to get the PC that can handle this game. Maybe GeForce-armed laptop/PC could run this game greatly. Maybe..

It was leaked that the date would be around November 22nd, of this year.

http://www.gta5tv.com/gta-v-pc-release-date/

When the game was published for consoles they were already working on a PC port, according to Rockstar.

EDIT: As with all leaked information, there's no guarantee it'll be like that.

I would hardly call speculation an actual "leak"

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-08-13-nvidia-says-gta5-on-pc-this-autumn

Everyone knows it will come to PC even the OP does, it's all just speculation, I am sure if this game works on the Xbox 360 no one who played battlefield 3 needs to upgrade for this game. So OP rest assured if you played Battlefield 3 your pc can run this without breaking a sweat.

This isn't watchdogs after all, it's just GTA V just a re-rendered version of the GTA IV Rage engine. It's not a new engine, which is why it still works on old gen. That is also speculation, but kind of confirmed if you put 1 and 1 together. Because off the game itself as well as press releases from Rock* they confirmed it's not new tech they wanted to focus on content so don't be put off by some rumour of you will need a monster pc to run this, this game will be less intensive than BF3 at least until some proper mods are out that will obviously boost the graphics and then you might struggle... 😛

Consoles are running it at 30FPS @ 720p, though. I'd say GTA 5 might be as intensive as BF3 on either High or Ultra, depending on the optimization.

I doubt it'll be more intensive than a 1080p BF3 on Ultra, unless there's some really bad optimization.

Yeah, totally agree dude. I think the future games will not be enjoying to play anymore on PC. That's why i prefer to play games on console than laptop or PC, because it's so much cheaper than those monster specs gaming laptops or PCs, unless you have big big budget in your pocket.

Besides, with console, you can run all the games smoothly without any hiccup. And the good thing is, now you can buy and download games through game store, which are cheaper than buying DVD games.

You misunderstood my post and even though I do agree with some of what you said I did not praise consoles, I just assured the OP that if he could play Battlefield 3 on pc he can play GTA V on pc since the specs will probably be lower than BF3. (It's just a rehashed GTA IV with a new storyline and more features no real graphical improvements upon the old game).

If your console argument is you can play all games ect, buy cheap games without buying the dvd you have a very weak argument because: Steam...

Steam > your argument

To clarify that if you buy a pc with the same specs as a PS3 your pc will still run everything JUST LIKE the console will, as long as you keep the graphics settings the same. the problem is console fanboys see the word settings and immediately try to push a device that is not made for those settings. Keep playing on low texture quality and no shadows and tell me that PC is different than the console.

I have no love nor hate for consoles, in my eyes they are just there... Rock* can kiss my ass if they want to treat pc gamers like second class citizens Ubisoft will always deliver :) <3 watchdogs

Yeah, i guess you're right. But something that keeps bugging me with PC games is, most of the latest PC games these days require more RAM in order to run it.

What if my laptop only supports 2 RAM slots for 1gigs of RAM, while my favorite games like GTA V, will need 4GB or maybe 8GB of RAM. I think that's just annoying.

Okay, maybe now you have 4GB RAM laptop, but what if most of next year games will need at least 8GB RAM as minimum spec requirement?

I do love both devices dude, laptop and console. But i think both devices should have their own functionality. PC for doing work, while console for playing games, although i know, most of PC games look great and better than on consoles.

Would you use a Nintendo Wii for Xbox 360 games? No?

Then why are you trying to use a laptop that is not meant for games to run games? That is the same as trying to install an iStore app onto an android device... it just won't work right.

I have 32Gb of Ram, ram is so cheap so I never have that issue.

Try gaming on a cheap gaming rig instead of a laptop your parents bought you for homework that is obviously not nearly as expensive as an xbox 360 yet you want it to do the same stuff an xbox 360 can do 😛

I mean compare tomato's with tomato's not a tomato with a piece of broccoli. No one likes these cheap intel celeron or AMD duel-core laptops they are literally just there... no point in life they have no meaning to society.

Games will obviously need 8GB of ram in the future however that is only for recommended specs your argument is still flawed because consoles don't play on recommended specs they play... barely. So for low settings you will get away with 4GB ram for probably 6 more years at least. Especially with companies like Rock* and Blizzard who neglect the rapid advancements in technology for the lust for $$$ and screwing the consumer 😛 I mean why can't PC have GTA V too ? I am sure me, you, OP and even santa would enjoy shooting old ladies in the kneecaps (something very difficult on a controller due to the auto aim and rigidity control of the analog stick)

But that laptop is really old then, considering even a 9 year old laptop I use for certain utilities even came with 2GB RAM and could use up to 4 (although only 3 would be used since it's 32-bits).

When you speak of PC gaming, laptops are never the option, trust me. You can make a PC for the same price as the PS4 or Xbox One and run games as well as it does there, as long as you run it on the same settings.

Laptops overheat, can't be upgraded except for HDD and RAM, and are simply much less powerful because there's much less room for components, and they need to be light.

For gaming on a PC, Desktop really is the way to go.

+1

Forgot to mention one thing: there's an additional cost of going to desktop, because you need to purchase a monitor (unless you'll use your TV AND it supports it), mouse, keyboard and headset (or just headphones/speakers).

Of course, if you were starting from scratch you'd also need a television for your PS3/4, but most people have one already. Not being able to afford that additional cost, which will be under 200$ if you make the right purchases, is the only reason I see not to go for PC gaming and stay on consoles.

If every every month you put 10-20$ on the side, you'll be able to keep a flow of decent upgrades, keeping your PC always ready for the generation it's in. You won't have the thing that happens with consoles, where by the end of their lifetime they struggle to run current-generation games. Your PC will always be ready.

We live in the modern age everyone owns a tv, everyone who buys a new pc will have HDMI compatibility it's not 2005 anymore...

Cost of brand new pc game on pre order= $59.99 on average (standard)
Cost of brand new console game on pre order= $79.99 - 89.99 (standard)

Wait 5 months on Steam same game costs $29.99 on pc. Who really saved money the guy who bought the slightly cheaper console and spends nearly $100/ game or the guy who can play tons of games for much cheaper 😛

Also next gen only has 500GB HDD's and have to install the games so good luck after game nr 15...

... I'm all for PCs... but where the hell have you been buying console games..

What about console games dude? i heard that console games can also be downloaded through the PlayStation and Xbox game stores. Will they cost the same or cheaper than buying tangible DVD games, considering that the costs for packaging, shipping, etc will be eliminated. Just asking though.

They might be lower, but it won't be nearly as low as Steam.

I mean, if you wait for Steam Sales, games that were released more than a month or two ago (or sometimes even those!) will almost definitely have a discount, and it can go up to 90%!

My steam library is worth 3.5k euros, and I haven't spent nearly 400. How's that? Bundles (humblebundle, indiegala, indieroyale, bundlestars), steam sales, trades... By "worth" it means what would it cost if I had purchased the games from Steam at the time they were acquired (true value, doesn't take into account discounts).

Also, you have the daily, weekly, sometimes mid-week and weekend deals, which are awesome.

Chris the problem is if he doesn't live alone, other people might dislike the fact that he dominated the TV, because if he doesn't have a monitor he'll be working, gaming, browsing, and doing everything else there, which might be bad for the others.

In my country games cost R799.99 - R900.00 for regular console games devide by +- 10 to get the $ exchange rate (9.89 today) They only drop to R699.99 ($69.99) in like a year and after that another $10, but after they are around $40.00 they will stay there. PC games on release are around $40 or less over here. 😀 HD tv's are cheaper than some monitors, especially if he gets a 32" plus if he domintated the tv when playing console... same argument bro :) I understand your point I have had consoles since the dawn of time. However I have never seen a valid console> pc argument. Never, I have no hate for consoles as I said and I will be getting a ps4 prob next year but just to have 1 not to play games on it non stop. That's why I have my pc 😛.

I mentioned this in another post a few months back: For games like GTA the driving, flying ect. are better on console but shooting and walking or running are better on pc imho.

No I didn't mean that consoles were better! Just that having a monitor is better than relying on the TV unless you live alone.

On console it's kinda "natural" to use the TV, and it's just for gaming, so you're not ALWAYS there. But if it's for a PC, you'll absolutely dominate the TV because everything you have to do on a PC you'd have to do on the TV. So I think he'll need a monitor, my opinion.

If you really like the controllers from consoles, most games on PC that were released on consoles support using a controller. Plus, Steam Controller will be out next year!

I have a 46" TV in my room, it is my monitor 😛 too bad I never use the smart tv function since it's kind of an expensive TV. Speaking of I can't want to purchase things for my crib in GTA 😀 wish we could have pets I would get a rottweiler and walk around the streets telling it to attack people especially drunks and old ladies
