Will HDMI out on my laptop make it a monitor?

Anyway the laptop has a HDMI out (says on the sticker describing it) and a VGA port too. My card is a ATi 5770, has DVI, Display port i think and HDMI.

No. Unless something has changed in the last year or so, laptop monitors are a one way street. You can connect an external monitor to it, but you can't plug an external computer to the laptop to use it as a monitor.
